Total Green School Awards 2015

Congratulations to Okehampton Primary School in Devon on being crowned UK Champions of Total Green School Awards 2015.  They received their £5,000 prize at the National Awards Ceremony in London on 23 June.

Their entry ‘Thinking Globally, Acting Locally’ was an amazing account of the vast amount of environmental work done at the school over the last year: from projects in the school grounds, making reusable shopping bags, to building a new outdoor classroom complete with a cob oven to cook pizzas.

The Total Green School Awards is a nationwide competition for 5 to 11 year olds, which is run by the Young People’s Trust for the Environment (YPTE) in partnership with Total. The competition, which aims to generate interest in the environment and raise awareness of the need for sustainable energy sources, has received entries from over 25,500 children.
