Total Green School Awards – 10 years of inspiring young people
Now entering its 10th year the Total Green School Awards goes from strength to strength with over 30,000 young people participating each year. The Awards are all about opening up young people’s creativity and recognising excellence in environmental education.
Primary schools across England, Scotland and Wales are invited to submit entries for the Total Green School Awards 2016. With a prize of £5,000 for the UK Champions and a total of 32 Awards available, there are great incentives for schools to get involved.
An interactive new website also marks the 10th anniversary, designed to better assist teachers find all the information they need to create and submit their projects. The redesigned website simplifies the entry process and children's work can now be uploaded more easily to the Awards website.
Information on past winners provides teachers and their students with ideas and inspiration about how they can participate in the Awards. Specially written Curriculum Guides further assist teachers by showing how the Awards relate to the National Curriculum for England and Wales and the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, both of which are downloadable from the website.
The deadline for entries is 9 May 2016, so there is plenty of time to create and submit entries, but schools are encouraged to register their intention to take part as soon as possible.
The Total Green School Awards are supported by Total and are devised and organised by the Young People's Trust for the Environment.
