Celebrating West of Shetland

TEP UK SGP Inaug P Pouyanne A Rudd

A wealth of visitors blessed the Shetland Isle today for the official inauguration of the Laggan-Tormore Project at the Shetland Gas Plant. Joined by its partners Dong Energy and SSE, Total welcomed a number of guests from government and industry to the celebratory ceremony.

Total’s Chairman Patrick Pouyanné and Total E&P UK’s Managing Director Elisabeth Proust hosted the ceremony where they were joined by the UK Government Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Amber Rudd and the French Ambassador, Sylvie Bermann.

As well as maintaining and developing existing assets, the West of Shetland region represents a significant focus for Total, making the Greater Laggan Area Total’s third UKCS operating hub.

Today’s milestone recognises the extraordinary feat of engineering and marks the successful completion of the longest subsea-to-shore development ever seen in UK waters.
